FAQ's

How is the teeth cleaning performed?

The teeth cleaning is performed through the use of hand instrumentation, we use the same hand instruments that your dental hygienist would at your dental appointment.  All visible surfaces of your pets teeth above the gum line will be scaled. Your pet is placed in the most comfortable and accommodating position for  them. Usually on their backs with a blanket.  Some pets prefer to be upright and we always work to make sure your pets needs are met first.

Do you give my pet treats?

Yes, we do offer reward for good behaviour. We serve Benny’s Bully Liver Treats.  Please mention food allergies on your intake form.

How long does the teeth cleaning take? How long is the entire appointment?

The teeth cleaning or scaling takes on average 30 minutes.  The appointment length is 1 hour.  We do take some time to get to know your pet first, build trust and get them relaxed.

What if my pet's teeth are too loose or diseased to be cleaned?

We will screen your intake form when you book the appointment, if for any reason we feel your pet may not be a good candidate you will be contacted. If your pet arrives with dental complications that would be better suited for a veterinarian, we ask that you seek their advice and and only a $65 plus hst appointment fee applies.

Are the Teeth Cleaning Technicians trained in Pet First Aid and CPR?

Yes, our technicians are First Aid and CPR certified by Pro Pet Training's.

How should i expect my pet to act after the cleaning? can my pet eat right away?

After the cleaning your pet should act and eat normally. Some pets get the sneezes from their nose being manipulated, some love to rub there face on the ground which shows they are happy and feel good

How often should I bring my pet?

Your pet can come as often as you see fit or as per your technicians recommendation. Once your pet's teeth are cleaned, you can monitor for the return of tartar build-up.  Once you feel your pet is due, we are happy to see you again. The key is not to wait years between cleanings however as abundant tartar build up does speed up the process of gum disease.

How far ahead can I drop off/ how late can I pick up for clinic or drop off appointments.

Pets can be dropped off only at the designated drop off time.  Your technician will direct as to what time to return for pick up.  Appointments are booked back to back so please be on time.

How do i book an appointment?

Appointments can be booked by selecting any Appointment Request link on this site, fill out the information and K9toothhaus will, select your preferred appointment time and K9Toothhaus will get back to you shortly with an approval.

What forms of payment do you offer?

We accept Cash, E-transfer, Debit and Credit.

Late Drop offs

Drop offs more than 30 minutes late may not be able to be accommodated due to the nature of our job.  Pets are seen alone to minimise distractions and appointments are set up as such to accommodate each pet. This applies to drop off appointments at 75 the donway west or any clinic in a store. A short cancelation fee applies

If something comes up, can I cancel?

We do require 3 business days' notice for cancellations due to the travel nature of our business.  Shortcancellations are subject to a $85 plus hst fee.   2 regular cancellations (more than 3 business days)  in a row result in the entire appointment being paid upfront in order to book again.
